Achille Castiglioni crystallized his design aspirations immediately after the Second World War, focusing mainly on city planning, architecture and particularly on design. Achille has received various acknowledgements such as the permanent exhibition of six works at the Museum of Modern Art of New York and the winning five editions of the Compasso d'Oro award. Continuing his spectacular design legacy he has reinvented many items for Alessi featuring modern flair and functionality. Another such utilitarian tool from Castiglioni, the Ala Crumb Collector exhibits simple, yet beautiful design. To remove crumbs from your tablecloth without effort, one must simply skim the piece over the table to whisk the crumbs directly into your hand or a dish.
