International Concepts was founded in 1979 in Greensboro, NC as an unfinished furniture wholesaler, providing furniture to retail stores throughout the Eastern United States. Initially International Concepts only purchased and resold furniture products, however, it soon became obvious that profits and sales could be increased by assembling some of the products at their own facilities.
In 1985, International Concepts moved to a 9,000 sq. foot facility in Jamestown, NC while continuing to wholesale unfinished furniture. In 1987 the company started importing chair components and assembling them to sell to unfinished furniture stores. That same year International Concepts moved from Jamestown to High Point, NC and leased a 24,000 sq. foot facility.
In 1990, the owners of International Concepts purchased a building in Thomasville, NC and the company moved again. The new building more than tripled available warehouse space. Finished furniture was added to the International Concepts lineup. In mid 1994, International Concepts purchased another large facility in Thomasville which brought total manufacturing, office and warehouse space to well in excess of 200,000 sq. feet.
By 1996, the finished furniture line became large enough to create it's own name, "John Thomas Furniture", and the growing volume of customers required that a new manufacturing facility be created. In 2000, International Concepts has almost 400,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space in North Carolina and Arkansas. Today, International Concepts offers a large selection of products such as dining tables, dining chairs, dining sets, counter stools, bar stools, china cabinets and much more! For the money, these chairs are awesome! I ordered 4 of them and expected them to mis-match, or be of a different finish than my table, or be dinged, dented, and scraped. I was very surprised. The construction quality (viewing underneath the seat) was what you might expect in an inexpensive chair, but they were solid and in great shape. I bought them to match my older table (the oak color is hard to find anymore) and to be useful, too. I am very happy with this purchase!

Compact size makes it perfect for small eating space. Two of them with a drop-leaf table take up a very small amount of room.

I use these chairs in my dining room. They compliment my table and china cabinet. They are well constructed and lightweight. Beautiful stain.

These chairs were a lot smaller than I expected and because of that they do not slide under the pedestal table properly. However they are good for what I intended which is to replace the broken chairs until I am ready to buy an entire new set. They are sturdy and solid wood and well constructed.

Delivery was prompt and the packaging was acceptable. The boxes were so big yet so light. The chairs arrived pretty much when they were promised.

Wish glue was used in construction along with screws. Had a wooden wedge that holds back into seat come off. I applied wood glue and replaced. Glue should be used on all these wedges. Other than that minor detail I am very pleased with the chairs!
