About the Artist:
Born in 1972, Sara Abbott grew up near Portland, Oregon. Upon relocation to Arizona in the early 1990's, Abbott began the road to a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and an interesting expedition on photographing nature and the human figure. She began mixing paint with photographs, using found objects such as car doors for frames, and even using fire to light up an image. This path allowed a much deeper interpretation into the discovery of her creative process. While traveling the world, Abbott captures figures and landscapes of beautiful isolation. Her works now include light boxes, abstract paintings with photographic transfers and large scale photographs mounted on plexiglass. Abbott’s work has been collected all over the world and she continues to create her art in Scottsdale, Arizona were she currently resides.
