Asian Scholar Desk

This Asian inspired scholar desk from Oriental Furniture is the perfect addition to any home for displaying photographs and storing magazines, remote controls, and keys. Standing a stout 16" tall, this scholar's desk draws back on ancient Asian history when most furniture was made for those to use while on the floor. This is why most Asian pieces are so short, the chair was not brought into Chinese interior decor until the middle of the Ming dynasty, and even so, those chairs were meant for royalty and those of high statue. Constructed of solid elm wood in a light walnut finish, this Asian desk has brass ornamentation on each of the five small drawers. A beautiful addition to any home.
